I'm voting to reject LGPS 2014 because we will get less

The HE Service Group Exec recently voted to recommend a reject vote in the LGPS consultation, because we will get less.

We took strike action in 2006 and again in 2011 to defend a perfectly healthy scheme, and the benefits associated with a final salary scheme are generally better than a career average scheme.

Uprating our pensions to CPI rather than RPI also means we lose out.

We will also have to work longer.

We are told the government said these two issues were 'deal breakers'. In that case, we say to them: 'No deal'!

Our view is that we can and should fight for more. The UCU are still in a live dispute over their pensions because they will have to work longer, pay more and get less of their pensions.

We should link the fight over pay with our continued fight for fair pensions for all and rekindle the unity shown in the run up to November 30th last year.
